A Message from Ray S

What do we do when we cannot go  out to dance?  We stay at Home and dance.  One person or two people or 4 if you can do the Cheeseburger!  If you can’t, ask the young people.  Those people under 80!

My song and dance for this week, try  YouTube Col Hardy’s “Black and White Tangle” Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=830glVl-f04 Follow up with  “An Interview with Drongo Jack.”  Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBObdzphayw What powerful and beautiful words. His mother reassured him when, as a very young  Col he was very anxious about going to Sydney from outback NSW way back in 1962.  His Mum said “You go and don’t worry, if you don’t like it you can  always come home”. Let Col have the last say on decency when he said “I am a very proud Australian Aboriginal and  I  have 100%  respect all other Races of People”.  Stay with the interview to listen to Col sing “Dear Mama”  Don’t tell me there were no tears!

Busting to get back to the Rhumbaette  or the Rosalie Rhumba or, dare I say it , the Hucklebuck or the Waltz Across Texas!  My goodness, how much rain have we had Kevin?  And to Janese, Have u seen the YouTube with Trevor Day singing  “Slim and Dusty.” Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxjY2o1g9Ec

Miss you all from the Kyneton and District Old Time Dance Club and all the other Dance Venues around Mid Vic and the many  regulars from Melbourne and visitors from further afield. Lotsaluv to you all. Ray S
